- Worked to make TSU an attractive investment for key players on local, state and national levels
- Played role in effort by Texas and U.S. Office of Civil Rights to ensure minority rights and opportunities in state’s college and universities.
- Also improved TSU’s image in business and political arenas
- Launched a $5 million development campaign and set the stage for an Executive Order directing the federal government to provide economics support to HBCU’s
- Received appointment by presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush
