• Only president asked to lead the university on three separate occasions
• Served TSU in other capacities, including Law School Assistant Professor, Director of Personnel, Assistant to the President and Executive Assistant to for Board Relations
• At the time of his retirement in 1994, Bell had served under every president in Texas Southern’ s history- a total of eight at the time.
