Abstract

Leading an anti-apartheid march. (Exhibit 21) Houston, Texas. October 12, 1985. "We must fight for those in South Africa who are suffering…Apartheid is wrong, cruel, and evil, and has to be obliterated." Leland later clarified his exhortation to the crowd to "exercise civil disobedience," stating he meant only non-violent action to end U.S. support for South African's apartheid government.
